Cingl is an Associate Professor at the Department of Managerial Economics of the Prague University of Economics and Business and his research examines topics such as the effects of time pressure and stress on human behavior, theories of secularization and religious (and non-standard) beliefs; dishonesty, tax compliance, antisocial & delinquent behavior; ambiguity and risk-preferences; and individual willingness to compete.

CEDRR talk: "Challenges of interactive mapping of Western-European heresy (1000-1150)" 10:00 Projekt DISSINET zve na oficiální spuštění a prezentaci nové interaktivní mapové aplikace, která představuje nejúplnější soubor dat o raných případech hereze v západní Evropě v letech 1000-1150, sestavený z původních latinských pramenů. Tvorbu aplikace a její obtíže představí Lida Hinz-Wieczorek z Univerzity Adama Mickiewicze v Poznani.

Přednáška: Luboš Bělka – První Čechoslováci v Tibetu 18:00 přednáška První Čechoslováci, kteří navštívili Tibet a pobývali ve Lhase, byli armádní filmaři: režisér Vladimír Sís a kameraman Josef Vaniš. V době svého pobytu v Číně a Tibetu v letech 1953 až 1955 si vedli podrobné deníky a domů posílali reportáže, soukromé i pracovní dopisy. Přednáškou, kterou doprovodí také filmové ukázky, provede Luboš Bělka z Ústavu religionistiky FF MU.

9. 12. 2022 CEDRR hands-on seminar: Computational approaches to semantic change 9:30 – 15:00 Dr. Vojtěch Kaše from the Computing Culture & Society Laboratory (CCS-Lab, University of West Bohemia) will lead a hands-on seminar focusing on the topic of analyzing semantic changes in large textual corpora and will introduce to the participants a particular computational methodological framework.

Beheim, Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig: "In this workshop, I will go over the data processing methods used by the Data Provenance Research Group at MPI-EVA for collecting survey-based information in the field, as well as rapidly digitizing and processing large amounts of archival materials through a modular, standardized data pipeline using software written in Kobo Toolbox, R and the bash shell. Workshop attendees are encouraged to use RStudio with a working terminal interface if possible."

Beheim, Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig: "Access to large databases of behavioral and artistic records, and recent advances in AI assistants have created an efflorescence in the scientific study of cultural diversity. Here I focus on two study systems - the Game of Go and the South Indian art of Kolam - with the tools of behavioral ecology to understand how consistent patterns of behavioral diversity are with processes of strategic social learning, rates of innovation, artistic virtuosity, and the influence of new modes of social information."
30. 11. 2022 CEDRR guest lecture "Mapping seismic gods in the ancient Mediterranean" 16:00 – 18:00 Dr. Sabine Neumann from the Marburg Center for the Ancient World (MCAW, University of Marburg) and Dr. Tomáš Glomb (CEDRR, Masaryk University) will present their ongoing research that tackles the question of "How seismic activity in the ancient Mediterranean could have shaped the worship of deities in the region?" by using the synergy between established historiographical approaches and quantitative methods.
