Conclusion of studies

The end of the study is always connected with the defence of the thesis and the state examination. The form of the thesis and the course of the examination depend on the level of study.

Bachelor Thesis

The binding part of the thesis is the title page, which includes the name of the university, faculty and institute, the title of the thesis, the name of the thesis supervisor and the year of preparation. In addition, the thesis must include a statement by the author on the originality of the thesis, a table of contents, a running commentary and a list of sources and secondary literature used.

The length of the bachelor thesis is 70 000-80 000 characters including spaces (approx. 40-45 standard pages). A Czech and foreign-language abstract (1 800 characters including spaces, i.e. approx. 30 lines) and a Czech and foreign-language list of key words are a compulsory part of the thesis. These parts of the thesis are also submitted separately to the relevant IS MU files.

It is not necessary to submit the thesis physically. The electronic version should be submitted to the thesis archive and at the same time to the submission office of the course RLBcP: Bachelor's Thesis in Religious Studies.

In addition, the thesis must be accompanied by a statement by the author on the originality of the thesis, a table of contents, a running commentary and a list of sources and secondary literature used.

The length of the thesis is 120 000-140 000 characters including spaces (approx. 60-80 standard pages). The obligatory part of the thesis is a Czech and foreign language resume (1 800 characters including spaces, i.e. approx. 30 lines) and a Czech and foreign language list of key words. These parts of the thesis are also submitted separately to the relevant IS MU files.

It is not necessary to submit the thesis physically. The electronic version should be submitted to the thesis archive and at the same time to the RLMgP: Master's Thesis in Religious Studies.

Dissertation

During the course of their studies, students produce a dissertation. The thesis must contain original and significant research results. There are two possible types of dissertation for the PhD in Religious Studies - a monograph and a collection of studies.

Doctoral state examination and dissertation defence

The State Doctoral Examination in Religious Studies (SDZ) is held in the 5th or 7th semester of study at the latest (taking into account the time of any interruption) according to the recommended curriculum and is different from the dissertation defence, which is held at the end of the study.

Both study events are preceded by preparation and have their own specific course and requirements.
