Dr Zbíral awarded the Rector’s Prize

Dr David Zbíral has been awarded the 2020 Masaryk University Rector's Prize for an exceptional research outcome. The prize has been awarded for his book Baptized by Fire: Cathar Christianity in the Light of the Sources (Praha: Argo 2019), which represents an exceptional synthesis concerning Catharism with a selection of sources translated from Latin and Old Occitan originals.

The Jacques Derrida Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities is awarded by the Embassy of France in the Czech Republic and Michal Martinko. The goal of this competition is to award the best PhD research work in all fields of social sciences and humanities.

Tomáš Glomb got the MUNI Scientist Award

Doctor Glomb won the award for the publication of the book Connecting the Isiac Cults, which is the culmination of his long-term research on the spread of the Egyptian cults in the Hellenistic period.
