Submit your work to our upcoming thematic issue and contribute to an actor-centered perspective in the study of religion and digital games
The journal Sacra invites submissions for its upcoming thematic issue, Pixels of Faith: Digital Games, Religion, and Actor-Centered Perspective.
This issue explores the dynamic intersections between digital games, players, and religion. We welcome original research articles, theoretical and conceptual contributions, methodological papers, and empirical case studies that connect these three domains.
We accept contributions that examine how religious and spiritual meanings are experienced, negotiated, and constructed by players through gameplay, with particular attention to questions of identity, morality, interpretation, personal belief, religious representation, and the subjective experience of playing digital games.
If the topic is close to your heart, feel free to contact us at 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦.
Deadline for submissions is 30. 10. 2026.
We’ll guide you through all the joys and challenges of the publishing process (for more details, visit 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚.𝐜𝐳).
